Sam's BMW GS1200 parked "majestically" outside the restaurant
Yesterday, we stayed a night in Ipoh. This morning, in spite of free breakfast from the hotel, we are going out for breakfast. How come? We'll be joined by other KL bikers who are riding up to 'escort' us back...hehehehe... Bikers will find every excuse just to ride. So, what better way then to say that they are here today in Ipoh to escort us home, right? Good reason/excuse, isn't it? LOL
Whenever we (bikers) are in Ipoh, we usually eat at Pusat Makanan Chha Yong
Example : Sam normally orders from this stall that sells Chinese cruellers (aka yau char kuai, Yam cake, fried sweet potato, etc)...hehehe. But he didn't eat these this time around, basically he had fried sweet potato, yam & something else. Well...just put it this way...I was too busy chatting with everyone and had forgotten to take the pictures of what we ate. Basically as I mentioned, the bikers eat practically the same food each time I eat there with them. Seriously!!! They are quite predictable in terms of food.
Rocker57 likes the chee cheong fun here 'showered' with chicken & potato curry gravy. This time around, Ryan, Alex & Ah Yat ate chee cheong fun. I on the other hand like the shop's serving of thick & aromatic traditional coffee. Plus, I ain't a morning person, so food early in the morning doesn't augur well with me unless it is past 10am or so.
Today, Ryan, Sam, Alex & Ah Yat rode as early as 7.30am to meet us at this eatery at about 9.20am. All pre-arrangement made by Rocker57.
From left : Alex's Ducati (considering to buy - on test ride mode), Ah Yat's Yamaha 600, Ryan's Yamaha VFR800, Johnny's Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom & Rocker 57's Kawasaki Z1000SX.
Ashley's Kawasaki Versys 1000, parked 'solo', a stone's throw away |
How come? Well, the Vulcan top speed is about 140-160kph as compared to the bigger bikes that could go faster. So the lead time would do justice when we meet up again at Tapah R&R. Buddy system riding is advisable so that one can look out for the other. Today's ride is no different. No matter how fast or slow one rides, there will always be someone to look-out for the last rider.
At the Tapah R&R. I took one picture for remembrance. The "gang" - From left : Sam, Ryan, Johnny, Cynthia (Ashley's wife), Ashley, Ah Yat, Rocker57 and Alex (I nicknamed him Speedy Gonzales). And free blog advertisement for Mighty White; local bread.
Except for Sam, the rest of us rode to G - Mart to check out some new (re-conditioned) Harley Davidson & Superbikes arrival from the USA. We split ways with Sam at the Sg Buloh exit.
We stopped along the roadside about 1km from G-Mart at Jalan Sg Buloh for lunch - Cendol & Rojak.
And then, we spent about an hour window shopping for bikes.
Thereafter, we all headed our own way home. It was a great fast & 'furious' riding trip! Rocker57 and I really had a good time. Gets the adrenaline pumping hard and fast...
Until the next time....
Take care, stay positive and happy always.

correction. mine's not a GS1200. it should be R1200R. the monster that ryan rides, is GS1200.
Sam - Apology on the error on your bike. Correction on Ryan's bike. Its Honda VFR. It was Ashley that highlighted it to me.
FYI, Ryan did not ride the GS1200 that day, see the photo properly lah. He did not ride the monster, he rode the 'elephant'? :)
Give me a car, I can tell u better but for a rookie like me...give me some credit lah..... hahahahaha.
